FOTD May 6, 2013
I bought Mac Ablaze lipliner and gloss recently and decided to give it a go. I wore a white summer dress with tan sandals since the lip was bright. I regret not getting the lipstick now since it is a beautiful shade for summer!
Face: Racheal K CC cream (Neutral), Laura Mercier mineral powder (Natural Beige)
Cheeks: Lancome bronzer (Natural Sunkiss), Mac blush (Coppertone)
Eyes: Mac e/s (Mauveless), Laura Mercier artist palette (Guava, Chocolate), Mac lashes (43)
Brows: Mac (Lingering), Anastasia brow gel (Granite)
Now that the snow is finally gone I have been enjoying wearing a CC cream with powder on top. I still use an spf60 under it all and on my neck.
I think this new Coppertone blush is going to be perfect for me this summer! LOVE!
What products are you guys excited to wear this season?

NOTD...
I have been loving these bracelets together as of late. I got them off of Hautelook at different times of course and piled them on one day...love!
OPI Can You Tapas This?. It's darker in real life and one of my fav fall colours.
My hubby got me this mug on a trip to the UK recently. I had Cherry Green Tea today.

Do you Konad?
You remember this purchase right? It's one of my silliest purchases but it turned out to be super fun! I loved crafts as a kid and this is the makeup junkie's version I suppose. :D
So here is the mini kit I bought. Three polishes, 2 plates, stamp and the "scraper" (for lack of a better term). Just under 30 bucks at a random kiosk in the mall.
It's simple. You take a little polish (I chose white), brush it over the design you want, scrape the excess off, push the stamper thing on, and stamp your nail. Took me 10 minutes (learning curve included).
Getting it right in the middle was the challenge. I tried three times and finally gave up. I was able to scrape off the misplaced designs with no issue though till I got it where I wanted it. Or sort of where I wanted it. This is gonna take practice.
This is the plate after one use. I picked the bows in the centre.
Here is the final result. OPI's Russian Navy (a favorite) with white bows on the ring finger.
I like it! I'm not one to ever get flowers on my toes or hands but these bows really bring a smile to my face. I topped it off with my top coat (Seche Vite) so it should last the life of my manicure.
I will do this again. Super fun. I still can't rock the flowers though. Stars are next...

In&Out
In:
Chanel polishes. I am loving them. It's the finish that makes them special.
Tea. It's chilly at night here now. Actually I'm drinking some fennel tea right now. Good for digestion I was told.
Red lips. Bright red, matte red, shiny red gloss, deep black-ish cherry red....you name it, I'm wearing it.
My new Stila palette. Love that thing.
Planning Halloween! Yay! Wondering if I should host a dress-up party at my place.
Navy Blue.
Out:
Being so short staffed at work=no time for yoga/gym! My back is starting to hurt again from not being able to go to yoga enough. They better hire more people soon...
Pastel nails, sharply defined smoky eyes. I am over my summer look and embracing fall.
Not eating enough protein, not eating as healthy as I should, snacking at work on random things. Time to go back to basics...I feel awful.
Foundation that's slightly too dark. I'm talking a half shade. I am losing any colour I have so must go back to my lighter ones.
My simple black handbags. I look at them and think...boring.

Haul: Chanel, Mac, Eve Pearl & More
This will be my last haul for the next month as I am going on a one month shopping diet lol. Seems silly but once in a while I decide not to buy anything (including clothes and stuff) for a certain period of time.
I am not normally a Chanel shopper as it really is my mom's brand...something I associate with her very much. After hearing so much about it I figured I would buy some things. I only own Glossimers and Pro Lumiere. I like the former but not the later. So here is what I got...
I really wanted to try the nail polish in the line because I kept hearing good things about it. I actually went to the counter looking for Peridot but it was sold out. I tried it on and it was very nice. I tried the "bronze universal" but I liked the look of my Nars Cap Vert better so I passed on it. The limited edition shadows were also sold out. I loved the black one and the greenish one. The lady also gave me a bunch of skincare samples which will likely go to my mom.
Boy. This is a lipstick by Chanel that I am sure you will have heard of. I wore it once already and I have to say I am disappointed with the formula. It is a nice colour but the formula is certainly not worth the $39. The packaging is very nice though. I prefer my Guerlain Rouge Automatique ($40) way better in terms of the formula. I like the Chanel packaging better though. Maybe I will like it more as I wear it more.
Vitalumiere. I bought this foundation because I hear people raving about Chanel foundations all the time. The finish is very nice. Wear time is average. I like the colour I bought (30), although in the winter I will have to drop to a 20 probably. It feels way better on the skin than the Pro Lumiere (which feels so awful I can barely stand wearing it). The special thing about Chanel foundations seems to be the amazing dewy (but not greasy or cheap looking) finish when initially applied. I can see why makeup artists love it.
Natural Finish Pressed Powder. I bought this in the colour Translucent 3. It is pretty sheer and it has a really nice finish. I wanted to compare this to my beloved Meteorites from Guerlain. This is a setting powder with no colour correcting properties so I think it would be an apples & oranges situation. I really like this powder. Will buy the loose at some point to compare. Comes with a sponge that I will not use as it sits on top of the powder...yuck.
Blush Duo Tweed Effect. I got this in the colour 10 Tweed Pink. Haven't worn this yet so can't really comment except to say that it is really shimmery which is what I wanted.
Nail Colours. O.M.G. I adore these nail polishes! I can't believe I never bought them before. The finish and dimension in them is sooo amazing! The pictures don't really do them justice. Way better than my Nars nail polishes...way! Will be buying more. I have heard that not all Chanel polishes have a great formula though.
I got Black Satin (super shiny, rich black), Black Pearl (exactly the colour/finish of a black pearl) and Graphite (this is my favorite...like graphite). Adore these!!! As you can see I couldn't wait to wear these.
I also got the Glo tooth whitening system from sephora. Will take before and after pics for you guys and tell you if it's worth it. Apparently no sensitivity issues like there are with bleaching.
Also from Sephora I got the new Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. Have heard it's way better than fix plus from Mac. We'll see.
From Mac I got Prep + Prime loose powder & Face Protect spf50 primer. Have heard the powder photographs amazing and with no white cast issues one can get with the MUFE HD powder if not careful. I have had this primer before but I don't remember how I felt about it. Just wanted my spf and primer in one.
I also got a six pan blush palette for my kit. The five blushes I chose are Dollymix, Melba, Well Dressed, Blunt & Harmony. They were sold out of Fleur Power which I will get another time. Basics that never let me down.
I got 3 lipsticks for me and two for my bff. I got Fresh Amour, Pink Azalea & Cyber (swatched). For her I got Prince Noir and Myth. Did not swatch hers for obvious reasons. I already wore Fresh Amour and I love it! It's not a wearable shade but you know me...I wore it anyways ;).
I also got 3 brushes. 211, 209 & 226. Haven't tried these out yet.
I got this Eve Pearl stuff on Hautelook. I have been wanting to try this line for such a long time. I really wanted the blush trios for travel and I got the concealer because it's the star product of the line. I also got lashes cuz I wanted to see what the quality of them was like. Just got these and haven't worn them. Can't wait!
I got a blush trio in Sunny Cheeks, a bronzer highlighter trio in Gold-Pink Sand-Champagne, the dual salmon concealer in Light/Medium and lashes in 104. I really like the packaging of the trios...kinda like my Chantecaille Sea Turtle palette packaging.
This was a ridiculous purchase. It's a Konad nail stamping starter kit and I got it at the mall. I don't even like designs on my nails but I really like the stars and wanna wear them on my ring finger nail. Will do a "Nails of the Day" post when I get around to stamping.
I made my hubby and I steel oats with peaches and maple syrup for breakfast. He steamed me up a little milk with vanilla and chocolate shavings. Mmmm. The wine in the background we had with dinner last night. It wasn't heavy enough for my liking. What wines are your favorites? Do you like reds or whites?
